• Moving on Up: We assist youth who have dropped out of school complete high
school or obtain their G.E.D. Assist the youth in endeavoring for higher education in
a two year, four year, or technical college. Assist with completing FASFA forms,
applying for grants and financial aid, provide payment assistance for college
application fees and GED test fees.
• Reading Tutoring: Poor reading habits, low vocabulary, and comprehension
makes it extremely difficult for them to function effectively in society. The objective
is to increase their reading skills 1-5 grade levels or to at least a ninth grade reading
level.
• Work Ready: Is a program to prepare the youth for employment, employment
retention, and upward mobility in the workplace. They will be work ready certified,
supported with job readiness skills, job search and placement assistance,
internships (paid and unpaid) and career assessment and exploration.
• Entrepreneurial Enlightenment: Is a program to help the young people explore the
possibilities of starting their own business. Many of the youth have natural talents
that can be converted to money making opportunities. We help them prepare a
business plan, apply the SWOT theory, and develop their marketing strategies.
• Life Skills: Is a program that will teach the young people budgeting, money
management, basics of banking, credit, self image, etiquette ,leadership development
and survival cooking (Back to Basics).
• Pay Forward: Is a program that requires the youth to do a minimum of 20 hours of
community service a year. We will emphasize that it is geared towards children and
the elderly.
• New Beginnings: Is a program that provides housing assistance for youth aging
out of Foster Care by connecting them to rental or housing options in the
community.
